设计源于三个冲动

第一个冲动,基于“初学者”的身份。在过去十几二十年年的建筑学习和实践过程中,我们产生了很多的问题,希望在展览中将问题提出,期待讨论。

 

第二个冲动,基于展览场地现状。纵深的场地和场地日常的状态,让我们选择通过重新塑造尺度和氛围的方式,形成具有张力的空间。

 

第三个冲动,基于“人”。我们期待人的真正进入,这种进入可能诱发身体的灵感,可能产生思辨行为,也可能是参与戏剧表演这样的活动。

 

把三个冲动在空间中具体化,我们用一条充满问题的“河流”,贯穿整个展场轴线。河流的源头是一张工作桌(问题来源于日常的建筑实践工作),桌上放置工作的电脑、设计的灵感与灯塔。河流穿过放大的台子,最终流向入口处的空间之外。高出地面的“辩经台”,来源于喇嘛的树下辩经的场景。台子引导大家席地而坐,或是就问题展开讨论,或是成为剧场的舞台。“辩经台”的地面用天然松针满铺地面,天蓬悬挂芭蕉叶。古寺中常用松针铺地,萦绕新鲜自然的气息,同时也增加了一个触觉层次。而芭蕉叶也有“园居生活,蕉下对弈”的隐喻。鲜嫩的松针和芭蕉叶会随着时间慢慢变化,为展场带来退化的时间性。

Three Impulses

I.

The Impulse of the "Beginner" Based on our identity as "beginners," this impulse stems from the numerous questions accumulated over nearly two decades of architectural study and practice. The exhibition serves as a platform to pose these questions and invite critical discourse.

II.

The Impulse of Site Context Responding to the site's linear depth and its mundane daily state, we chose to reshape the spatial scale and atmosphere to generate a sense of tension within the existing environment.

III.

The Impulse of Human Engagement We anticipate the genuine entry of the "individual." This presence may trigger bodily inspiration, induce speculative behavior, or manifest as active participation in theatrical performances.

 

To materialize these three impulses, a "River of Questions" was conceived to traverse the entire axis of the exhibition space. The "river" originates from a workstation—symbolizing daily architectural practice—complete with computers, design inspirations, and "lighthouses." It passes through an enlarged platform and eventually flows beyond the entrance. The elevated "Debating Platform" (Bianjing Stage) is inspired by the traditional scenes of monks debating under trees. This platform encourages visitors to sit on the floor, fostering discussion or serving as a stage for theater. The floor of the platform is entirely covered with natural pine needles, while the canopy is draped with banana leaves. Pine needles, often used in ancient temples, evoke a fresh, natural atmosphere and add a distinct tactile layer. The banana leaves serve as a metaphor for "playing chess under the shade"—a nod to traditional garden living. As the fresh needles and leaves wither over time, they introduce a "degenerative temporality" to the exhibition, marking the passage of time through material decay.

2小时展厅变身绝对初学者《食物剧场》

8月24日下午,展览正式开幕。所有人观展完毕之后去到报告厅期间,展厅内的四颗黑柱悄悄的展开“翅膀”,变成黑色顶棚。两侧的展览屏幕切换为氛围画面,日场灯光熄灭、夜场灯光亮起。空间的变换、光线的重置、所有食物的布展,留出来“变身“的时间只有2个多小时。为了确保体验充分,米念与刷刷氙想把建筑展览开幕式官方流程之后的“食物剧场”变成一个“彩蛋”,同时也无为而治得到了展厅和食物体验所能容纳的理想人数,这一切一直保密到最后一刻。有人说“本来要走了,走之前说去再看一下展场,结果发现变身了”。

The 2-Hour Metamorphosis: "Food Theater"

On the afternoon of August 24, following the official opening, the exhibition underwent a silent transformation. While the audience moved to the lecture hall, four black columns unfolded their "wings" to become a dark ceiling. Simultaneously, the exhibition screens shifted to atmospheric visuals; daytime lighting faded as the nocturnal scene was set.

With only two hours to reset the space, lighting, and culinary arrangements, the "Food Theater" was designed as a "hidden easter egg" following the official ceremony. Through a philosophy of "action through inaction," the team achieved an ideal balance of attendance and spatial experience by keeping the transition a secret until the final moment. As one visitor remarked: "I was just about to leave, but when I took one last look at the hall, I realized the space had completely transformed."
